Our experience of London homes means we are used to working with complicated cornice, intricate mouldings, and exquisitely designed architrave and the decorating challenges they present. We truly understand that the key to any professional decorating job lies in the patient preparation of the surface prior to the painting works commencing.
What's included in an internal redecoration
Every job is quoted individually, but a typical room follows the same sequence. Furniture is moved to the centre and covered, floors are protected with dust sheets, and switch plates and ironmongery are loosened or masked rather than painted around.
- Walls and ceilings: cracks raked out and filled, stains sealed so they cannot bleed back through, surfaces sanded, then a minimum of two full coats.
- Woodwork: skirting, architrave, doors and windows rubbed down, knots and bare timber primed, undercoated and finished in satin, eggshell or gloss.
- Cornice and mouldings: cleaned out by hand where old paint has clogged the detail, then cut in carefully so the lines stay sharp.
- Making good: minor plaster repairs are part of the job. If we find something larger, such as blown plaster or a live leak, we stop, show you, and price it before carrying on.

Whilst most of our demand is for Dulux, Leyland, and Farrow & Ball paints we also work with more specialist finishes and colour palettes when required.
Part of employing our services is access to our products expertise, this may be knowing the highest scrub rating for a communal parts, the best colour for a small bedroom, or the best paint for a mould prone bathroom.
Choosing the right finish
- Matt emulsion hides imperfections best and suits ceilings and most living spaces.
- Durable or scrubbable matt is worth the small extra cost in hallways, children's rooms and any rental property, because marks wipe off rather than needing a repaint.
- Soft sheen or a dedicated kitchen and bathroom paint copes with steam and condensation where an ordinary matt would not.
- Eggshell and satin on woodwork give a softer, more contemporary look than gloss and yellow less over time; full gloss remains the hardest wearing choice for front doors and handrails.
